i'm not sure how i feel about this blogging, its going to take some time & getting use to. i find it hard to navigate, again, i'm sure i'll feel better about this in a few weeks.
for me, writing non-fiction always seemed easier. perhaps i lack that childhood imagination for the world of fiction. i always found it much easier to simply write what i know, or at least expand upon things i know, a tad of imagination. but i was never the kid to make up fantasy lands & people. i much preferred to simply explore what already exits, different places & people.

  1. I agree that drawing from life is easier. But I feel like all writers use a lot of their own experience when they're writing even fiction.

  2. I completely agree with you. Even when I am nannying and the kids ask me to tell them a story, I find myself without the imagination to entertain them well. Maybe thats why I like babies and toddlers better...

Besides, there is so much to ponder in the world around us. I'm completely consumed by that. Why create another world apart?

  3. Using fictional techniques makes non-fiction more interesting as we saw in class last week. And I'm thinking that creating other worlds can help propel us to make this world better. I think writers like Dickens and Blake helped change 19th century Britain for children.
